Available for planned respite accommodation and support and as a base for running skills and life training activities.

We can provide much needed rest and relaxation to the service user, family members and carers by providing out of home respite “holidays” or “breaks” in a safe, person-centred and flexible environment. The particular focus of this support will be carer respite. This form of support is generally well planned in advance with dates predetermined so as to give maximum benefit to the carer.

The provision can include support for short lengths of time such as a couple of hours or a weekend, to extended periods up to a maximum of 3 weeks, depending on the wishes and needs of the family and supported person. Should the individual service user require a period longer than 3 weeks this can be permitted in exceptional circumstances.

If required, the large home will enable service users to have access to their own lounge area in addition to their bedroom. There will also be a communal lounge if the individual is able to access this.

Following our CQC inspection in June ‘22 we have produced an action plan to ensure that the areas rated as Requires Improvement in the report have been rectified, and we remain committed to ensuring that outstanding care is endemic and embedded throughout IOTA Care.
